Hawk Medical has invested significant resources and time in patenting its technology and processes to meet the surge in demand for tattoo removal.
Tattoos are applied by a machine which uses a needle moving rapidly up and down as it applies ink to the dermis, the second skin layer which provides the skin's structural integrity, elasticity, and resilience.
The body's immune system dispatches transparent microphage cells, which wrap around the tattoo ink, retaining the ink in the dermis layer.
It is at this level that Hawk's Tattoo Erasure System (TES) goes to work. TES combines a sophisticated computerized technology that directs - with precise split-second synchronization - highly engineered, fast moving, reciprocating needles penetrating the skin in the region of the tattoo.
One to three sessions are required for the removal of a typical 7 sq.in (45 sq.cm) tattoo. Each session lasts about an hour consisting of: a 15-minute treatment with the Eraser and a 45-minute treatment with a unique medicated pad. The medicated pad extracts the remaining pigments from the skin.
